200 Universities Just Launched 600 Free Online Courses. Here’s the Full List

img_1660-1If you haven’t heard, universities around the world are offering their courses online for free (or at least partially free). These courses are collectively called MOOCs or Massive Open Online Courses. In the past six years or so, close to 800 universities have created more than 8,000 of these MOOCs. In the past three months alone, over 200 universities have announced 600 such free online courses.

Here is the compiled list of them and categorized according to the following subjects: Computer Science, Mathematics, Programming, Data Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education & Teaching, Health & Medicine, Business, Personal Development, Engineering, Art & Design, and finally Science. Viral Photo of South Sudanese Student in the U.S. Lands her Major Modelling Deal

unnamedA 19-year-old South Sudanese student in the United States has signed a major modelling contract after her photo at a homecoming event went viral. Anok Yai who is a sophomore at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire was dragged by a friend to Howard University’s homecoming celebrations in Washington, D.C. where a photographer snapped a photo of her. This photo was posted by the photographer on his Instagram account and Anok Yai instantly became a hotcake with an overflow of comments, growth in followers and several calls from modelling agencies. Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program

DM1jhw2XcAA_vN3The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) is a scholar fellowship program for educational projects at African higher education institutions. Offered by IIE in collaboration with the United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa), the program is funded by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY). Over the past four years, the program has funded 274 Fellowships at 102 African universities. The program exemplifies CCNY’s enduring commitment to higher education in Africa. IIE manages and administers the program, including applications, project requests and fellowships.
