ETATS-UNIS: Les rejets de visas H-1B ont fortement augmenté
C’est une illustration de plus du tour-de-vis de l’administration Trump contre l’immigration légale. Le nombre de demandes de visas H-1B rejetées a fortement augmenté, selon de nouveaux chiffres compilés par le National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP).
Selon ce groupe non-partisan spécialisé notamment dans les questions d’immigration, les refus de dossiers complets ont bondi de 41% au dernier trimestre de 2017 par rapport au troisième trimestre de l’année (1er juillet-30 septembre).
Le NFAP, qui se base sur des données obtenues auprès de l’USCIS, agence de l’immigration américaine, indique également que le nombre de “Request for Evidence” (RFE), des demandes d’informations formulées par les autorités, du dernier trimestre 2017 a “presque égalé” le nombre total de requêtes du reste de l’année, soit 63.184 contre 63.599. Le nombre de ces requêtes a doublé au dernier trimestre 2017 par rapport au troisième, où il a atteint 28.711. SUITE

Viral Photo of South Sudanese Student in the U.S. Lands her Major Modelling Deal
A 19-year-old South Sudanese student in the United States has signed a major modelling contract after her photo at a homecoming event went viral. Anok Yai who is a sophomore at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire was dragged by a friend to Howard University’s homecoming celebrations in Washington, D.C. where a photographer snapped a photo of her. This photo was posted by the photographer on his Instagram account and Anok Yai instantly became a hotcake with an overflow of comments, growth in followers and several calls from modelling agencies. By drawing attention to exceptional partnerships, we hope to inspire others to replicate or expand upon their success.
We need your help to identify the most innovative and impactful environmental public-private partnerships around the world. Partnerships can engage academic, business, civic, government, and non-profit organizations and actors. Projects can be domestic or international in scope. Self-nomination is permissible and encouraged.
