We have conducted over 1,000 economic development client engagements in over 95 countries on all continents during the past 5 years Overview McKinsey is looking for a Team Leader to join our team and support the government of Sierra Leone on the implementation of their Ebola recovery plan. The Team Leader will work in collaboration with the Government and DFID to accelerate recovery post Ebola, build local capacity and put the country on a steeper development trajectory. 

The broad objective of the programme is to support the Government of Sierra Leone’s efforts to continue the results-focused approach to delivering important priorities under the recovery plan using the delivery approach established for the previous 6-9 month plan. The role will be based in Sierra Leone, and will be for 2 years. Key Responsibilities: Lead an internal full-time delivery team, as well as international and national consultants/advisors on a needs basis Refine the operational system and delivery architecture to ensure it is effective and sustainable Design programme strategy and implement delivery plan in line with the log-frame Lead on capacity building activities within the ministries Establish and maintain a catalytic demand facility Manage the delivery team’s pipeline and pipeline oversight document Facilitate between McKinsey and all external stakeholders. This includes the donor, national and provincial governments, and other development organisations operating at various levels Lead on knowledge management Ensure an effective monitoring and evaluation system for the programme with a strong learning Ensure effective overall programme governance Day to day management of  programme risk Experience: Deep understanding of the situation and challenges in Sierra Leon post Ebola Experience in private sector development including liaising with central government level or across district governments Experience working at the Ministerial level with government in Africa Experience building capacity and transferring skills in a developing country context Technical expertise in at least one of the following areas: Health - hospitals and primary health care, health systems strengthening, basic service delivery (MNCH, HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria) Education - Enrolment (especially of vulnerable groups), school hygiene, learning supports (e.g., facilities, curriculum, teacher effectiveness) Private sector recovery - especially in agricultural and rural development, SME supports, public works programs, etc. Social protection - social safety net systems, income supports, digital payments, MIS systems Delivery - Build delivery and accountability architecture, systems and capacity from the front-line to top levels of government Ability to work well with stakeholders at various levels Excellent managerial abilities; experience managing complex client and team environments Proven track record of working with big international development agencies (for example, DFID, USAID or World Bank) Demonstrates experience of undertaking high-risk projects considered politically, economically and socially sensitive If interested in applying for the role, please send your CV and covering letter to [email protected] by 9am on Monday 4th April 2016.
