Eligibility Requirements

The Obama Foundation Scholars Program at Columbia University seeks rising leaders from around the world who meet the following criteria:

  • Have a proven commitment to service and leadership within a community, region or country outside the United States, coupled with a demonstrated commitment to return to these communities following their completion of the program and apply their enhanced training, skills and connections on a long-term basis for the benefit of these communities
  • Are emerging leaders who have made meaningful contributions to their field and are now at a “tipping point” in their careers
  • Are fluent in English (verbal, written and spoken)
  • Have the ability and inclination to positively shape the future of their community
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to humility, integrity, inclusivity, stewardship, fearlessness, imagination and teamwork

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Mariam K. Chamberlain Award (graduate student’s dissertation award)

ICRW is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Mariam K. Chamberlain Award, which honors the legacy of Dr. Mariam K. Chamberlain, a visionary who founded Re:Gender – formerly the National Council for Research on Women – in 1981. The $10,000 award will support a first-generation doctoral student, as they work on a dissertation under the close supervision of a senior dissertation advisor over one academic year. Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program

DM1jhw2XcAA_vN3The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) is a scholar fellowship program for educational projects at African higher education institutions. Offered by IIE in collaboration with the United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa), the program is funded by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY). Over the past four years, the program has funded 274 Fellowships at 102 African universities. The program exemplifies CCNY’s enduring commitment to higher education in Africa. IIE manages and administers the program, including applications, project requests and fellowships. The 2017 Young Professionals Mentoring Program (YMP) is open. The YMP is an annual career and leadership development program, designed to empower young professionals with the skills they need to actualize their personal and professional goals.
